My Story...

Something I’ve always said and still believe - Your life is valuable, your health matters!

Friends, your life is valuable!  You are not an accident! You were Fearfully and Wonderfully made, praise God!

I didn’t come to Christ until just after I turned 22. I didn’t know who He was nor WHY. I was naive and blind, living my life based on my feelings in the moments and how I thought the world said to.

I lived based on my own understanding by judging other’s lives and then deciding what worked for me, or what I should or shouldn’t do.

Oh, but Christ!

One evening, late at night, I was laying in bed glued to a well written book based off a 9/11 event. The book was called Let’s Roll by Todd Beamer’s wife, the man credited for saying the words “Let’s Roll” that lead a group to charge the cockpit of the plane that went down in Pennsylvania.

I came to a part in the book where her son asks if he’ll ever see his daddy again.

Broke my heart!

I paused and started crying imagining the depth of sadness in that moment!

When I picked it back up,  what she said next stopped me in my tracks and changed my life for ever! She explained that because his daddy believed in Christ that he was now with Jesus in Heaven! And if he (their son) believed in Jesus as well, then yes! They would see him again and spend eternity together!

Woah!

I knew right then I needed to learn who Jesus Christ was.  The next day I went to the store and bought a Bible and started reading.  The following Sunday I went to church.

He saved me. Christ saved me….from me!  How ironic and cool is that?! I couldn’t save myself.  None of us are good enough (and if you think you are, why do you feel shame at a past mistake??).  I certainly was not good enough!  My pride told me what to do,  what I knew.  But Christ showed me who I am without Him – and I never want to be without Him again!

My Why

Nutrition and health became an interest of mine in 9th grade (loved my health teacher!). At age 16 I enrolled in a local community college where I started taking nutrition class in the evening while still finishing highschool during the day. In my 30’s I ended up with severe adrenal fatigue. I was told that if I were to even get pregnant again, it could kill me, it was that severe.  So I dove head first into researching and learning more about Adrenal Fatigue and the ways to support one’s adrenals. I put a strong focus on this and my adrenals have now been functioning strongly for the past 9 years  (even through hard stress a few years ago!  My lab work showed my adrenals and cortisol levels functioning at optimal levels! Praise God!!).

Two years ago my body physically began deteriorating fast, I had no idea what was going on. I thought “I was just getting old” because I had just turned 40. I went to our primary care doctor REPEATEDLY for 6 months, I was in the ER twice and urgent care 3 times. I continued to have recurring infections and no one knew what was going on, but they were okay continuing to prescribe prescriptions after prescriptions for me. I spent 5 months on various antibiotics and steroids - I was their guessing game.

Just like with my adrenals years before, I dove head first (I’ve spent upwards of 50 - 60 hours a week for the past 7 months reading and researching and comparing and learning). In July of 2021 I went to a biological dentist and had all 3 of my root canals removed - I haven’t had an infection since! He told me on the day of my first visit, without knowing anything about the struggle I had been going through for months prior, that “As long as they’re in there, I will never be healthy.” I heard that and knew they needed to come out!

But it doesn’t end there, I knew I had to go through some major detoxing to get my body functioning where and how it should be. I started first by focusing on my liver (knowing that the liver is an organ that is self repairing and is also the main filter for our bodies! If I could get my liver strong, then my strong liver could help me detox the rest of my body!).

I’ve also done parasite cleanses (I’ve heard it said ‘If you have a pulse, you have a parasite! Keeping those nasty guys in there will only keep you unhealthy!). I also found out through extensive blood word that I had Lyme as well as 3 of the 4 strains of Bartonella - bleh!  These were affecting me SO BADLY to the point where I was borderline Dementia (per blood work). I was losing my memory and ability to focus and make decisions. I also suffered from horrendous joint pain. It hurt to walk, stand, sit, lay down, etc.

I did a Lyme protocol through my Naturopath and I'm currently Lyme and Bartonella free!!! I have ZERO pain and tons of energy now. I am still implementing various protocols to continue to detox and strengthen my body. SOOOO all this being said, I have learned too much to just keep it to myself.  I was not just “getting old” my body was suffering from the inside out and needed my help!  I’d love to share all that I’ve learned and all that we use incase it may help someone else!

We are now living on land where we are converting a previous horse corral into a food forest of sorts, complete with year around food, medicinal plants and herbs.  This takes a lot of learning to make it happen, but it's something I enjoy! Right now we have a tiny corner (the size of an apartment patio) that I've been playing around with for the past 3 months since we moved here to get a feel of how to grow things together to help them thrive...it's been so fun reaping the rewards from it! Everyday for the past two weeks we've been able to pick and eat 2-4 cobs of corn, 2-4 different types of cucumbers, some tomatoes, and salad that we pick once a week! Realizing how much I can do with a tiny area has been encouraging and exciting! I'll share pieces of this as I go along, but please note - I am still learning!

I decided to do this garden because our health and wellness starts with our food and water. After that, we can supplement and support our bodies towards better health.  Our health is like gold, folks!  Keep your mind sharp and strong, keep your muscles and joints capable - help support your body to do what it was made to do and then live a life where you thrive! Full of energy and ability.

I keep a large bin full of supplements that our bodies may need for any reason - important to remember that each of our bodies are unique, including those living under the same roof! Because of that, each of us may need different support during seasons. Learning how to read this has helped me so much in strengthening each one of us according to where we need support. This is has been my favorite part of this journey...learning how to read root causes and responding accordingly.

My plan going forward is to become an Integrative Health Practitioner, earn my herbalist certification,  and continue to practice and learn how to grow a thriving garden.
